MINT

In Morocco but also in many other Arab countries, serving mint tea has become part of the rulebook for good living and represents the most refined expression of hospitality. The tea used is always green tea, usually Gunpowder, which is known for its freshness and thirst quenching qualities.

China green tea rolled into little pearls (Gunpowder) and flavoured with dried mint leaves. Astringent, fresh and thirst quenching.

"Old man's eyebrow". A tea rolled into needles that develops a pleasing aroma of fresh leaves. Powerful and scented.

EARL GREY SENCHA

Earl Grey has been a great English classic ever since Charles Grey, 2nd Earl of Falloden and Foreign Secretary went on to become Prime Minister in 1830. For saving the life of the Chinese Mandarin, he received in gratitude a specially scented tea flavoured with oil of bergamot.

Appearance: the leaves unravel.

Scents: a planty, spicy attack, enhanced by a few cooked fruit notes (rhubarb).

Liquor
Texture: the pronounced astringency that fills the mouth creates a rough texture and a well structured liquor.
Flavour: bitter.
Aromas: a gentle attack followed by very planty notes (twigs, leaves) and some spicy touches, finishing with mint.
Aromatic profil and lenght in the mouth: the rough texture of this tea gives it a pronounced presence in the mouth.

Our verdict: This tea, favoured in traditional Moroccan tea rituals, comes from an estate that adheres to strict organic farming methods.
