Description
This lightly oxidised oolong tea with long, delicately crumpled leaves develops delicious white flower notes. Bao zhong means "wrapped in paper". This name recalls how, in the past, the leaves of this tea were wrapped in white cotton paper to gently shape them while preserving the delicate fragrance.
Drawing its inspiration from the emblematic bao zhong of Taiwan, this tea comes from Mae Salong in Thailand, a unique growing area for the production of its renowned oolong teas. This exceptional region lies at an altitude of 1,200 metres, offering perfect conditions to develop the delicate fragrance of this oolong.
The leaves of this precious crop are harvested from the jin xuan cultivar and undergo a slight oxidation, resulting in particularly pronounced floral notes when tasted. For many years now, we have been working closely with Mrs Ming, a reputed and talented tea producer in the north of Thailand.
This atypical terroir, just as rich as the growing regions in Taiwan, will reveal a new facet of bao zhong.
It can be enjoyed all day long.
